Andrew has been active in the book trade for over 40 years, beginning with a pre-university job at the venerable firm of Thorntons in Oxford. After reading Classics at Exeter University, he went to work for 5 years with the leading Dutch antiquarian bookseller Nico Israel in Amsterdam. Returning in 1982, he launched Bennett & Kerr Books (ABA), specialising in books on the Middle Ages and Renascence. He has been informally involved with Bloomsbury Auctions since it was founded in 1983 by his father Lord John Kerr, with Frank Hermann and David Stagg. He has a particular interest in early printing and has had a hand in cataloguing the many collections of such books which have been handled by Bloomsbury, from the wonderful Jeudwine collection of illustrated books in 1984 right up to the present.
