5 vol., vol.1 & 2 second edition, vol.3-5 first editions, 48 plates and folding tables, some offsetting and spotting, contemporary speckled calf, rebacked, 4to, 1787-1823.
⁂ The Paston letters. The letters relate to the Pastons of Norfolk and cover the period between 1422 and 1509. Sir John Fenn of East Dereham purchased the letters from John Worth (a Diss Chemist), who had in turn purchased them from the antiquarian and lawyer Thomas Martin of Palgrave ("Honest Tom Martin of Palgrave"), who had himself acquired them from the antiquary Francis Blomefield, who was the original purchaser of the archive from the family.
