first illustrated edition, first issue, large paper copy , half-title, stipple-engraved title-vignette, 65 fine stipple-engraved plates printed in colours and finished by hand, by Bouquet, Jacques Chailly, Mlle. Delelo and others after Pierre-Joseph Redouté and printed by Langlois, tissue guards, half-title browned, some foxing to text, some light spotting to plates (particularly plates 4, 31, 36-37, 42, 57 & 62), the Plesch copy with his red calf book-label, loose as issued in the original boards, large paper label on upper cover, uncut, rather rubbed and spotted, lacking ties, joints worn, with later half red morocco folder, gilt, rubbed, preserved in modern cloth drop-back box, [Great Flower Books p.74; Nissen BBI 1688], folio, Paris, Delachaussée & Garnery, An XIV 1805.
