⁂ Scarce. We can trace only one other copy at auction. Wilson was the brother of James Wilson, author of The Rod and the Gun and was a frequent contributor on piscatorial subjects to Blackwood's Magazine (see W&S for a list). He was the subject of a biography by his daughter, entitled Christopher North: A Memoir of John Wilson , confirming that Wilson imagined himself as this fictional sportsman.
