Manuscripts & Autographed Letters
Manuscripts have been a feature of Bloomsbury Auctions since its inception in 1983. As with books, we offer a wide variety of material, encompassing everything from medieval indentures to English, Continental and further afield literary items, autograph letters, documents and archives.
For over a decade Simon Luterbacher has been in charge of these sales and has seen them grow from an adjunct to book auctions to a valuable force in their own right. Simon's detailed and painstaking research into the items he catalogues ensures that obscure and unprepossessing documents often sell for surprising sums of money. From William Harvey's will to a polar explorer's journal; from a letter by Dickens to a fragment from the Domesday Book - Simon would be happy to hear from you if you have an old or interesting document to sell.
Simon Luterbacher is available Monday to Friday for valuations and for any questions regarding English Literature and History books or Manuscripts that you may have.
