202.0

202. Hammett (Dashiell) Red Harvest, first edition, ink ownership inscription to endpaper, original cloth, spine-ends and corners a little bumped, otherwise near-fine, dust-jacket, repairs and restorations to head and foot, a little creased and rubbed at extremities, still in effect an excellent example, preserved in custom drop-back box, 8vo, New York, 1929.
Especially scarce in the difficult-to-fine dust-jacket.
A classic of the genre, in part based on the author’s own experiences working for the Pinkerton Detective Agency in Montana.
Time magazine included this title in their 100 Best English-language Novels from 1923 to 2005 listing.
