Hemingway had originally intended in our time to be his first published work (indeed, the back of Three Stories lists in our time as already available for purchase). However its inclusion as the sixth volume in Ezra Pound's 'The Inquest into the State of Contemporary English Prose' (see next lot), meant that printing was delayed.
