St. Christopher, single leaf from a Book of Hours, illuminated manuscript on vellum, large miniature of St Christopher carrying the Christ-child across a river, with a steep cliff on one bank, and a more gentle slope and green bushes on the other, in the background on the far side of a wide lake an elaborate palace or town, in an arched compartment, below a large initial ‘H’ in red, decorated in blue and gold, and 4 lines of text, in a border of foliage and flowers in colours, with many gold leaves and besants, and including a grotesque monster, 15 lines of text on verso, in an elegant lettre bâtarde, 2-line initial in gold, decorated in red, fore-edge with border of foliage and flowers in colours and gold, little marked, 120 x 80 mm., [ ?
