The Annunciation, single leaf from a Book of Hours, illuminated manuscript on vellum, large miniature depicting the Virgin kneeling before a lectern with an open book in her hand, with an angel holding a scroll, God the Farther in a blue roundel visible at the window, in an architectural setting with a large bed draped in red, and a landscape glimpsed though the window, in an arched compartment, large initial ‘’D’ below, in blue and white on a gold background, and 4 lines of text, in a full panel border of foliage, and flowers, in gold and colours, 14 lines of text on verso, fore-edge with similar panel border, 2 2-line initials in blue or red and white, decorated in goldand colours, small initials and line-fillers in gold, red and blue, rubbed, affecting the Virgin’s and angel’s faces, 155 x 110 mm., [ ?
