Blake (William).- Young (Edward) The Complaint, and the Consolation; or, Night Thoughts, superb engraved plates and illustrations surrounding text in relief etching by William Blake, some margins trimmed with loss of imprints, damp-stained at lower edge (mostly marginal) causing occasional small tears or fraying (repaired), lacking printed explanation leaf (as often), handsome contemporary green straight-grained morocco with elaborately-tooled borders in gilt and blind, rubbed and stained, small worn patch at foot of upper board, skilfully rebacked preserving most of old gilt spine, new marbled endpapers, folio, Printed by R.Noble for R.Edwards, 1797 [watermarked J.Whatman 1794].
