288. Yorkshire.- Bridlington Priory. Charter, Ingeram Mounceaux quitclaim to the Priory and Convent of Bridlington, the present lease for 40 shillings per annum for the watermill at Hertburn, manuscript in Latin, on vellum, 9 lines, witnessed by Sir Thomas Heseler and others, 35mm. tear left hand side of document slightly affecting text, folds, slightly creased and soiled, later superscription on verso, Phillipps Ms. 4130 with number on verso, fine green wax equestrian seal depicting a mounted knight armed with sword and shield, in a remarkable state of preservation, 2 edges chipped away but image intact and clear, 83 x 218mm., 17th May 1287.
