A lower corners repaired, vol.2 2 or 3 small wormholes to most ff., occasionally affecting a letter, worm trace to sig. 2P, affecting several letters and a whole word, stained, 18th century diced russia, rebacked and recornered, spine in 6 compartments, all but 1 with gilt dragon motifs, covers chipped, [STC 10660], folio, [William Rastell], [1533].

Rare. During the reign of Henry VIII a proclamation was made, after the Act of Supremacy, which ordered that the name of the Pope and any references to him be deleted from all books. This has occurred on a number of ff. in the present volume.
