Sleidanus (Johannes) A Famouse Cronicle of oure Time, first edition, second issue , black letter, title with woodcut arms and early ink ownership inscription, woodcut initials, title and A2 outer margins reapired, paper flaw causing hole to 2C6, with loss of a few letters, but no loss of sense, 2N5 similar flaw, with partial loss to 2 letters, 3A6 repaired tear to upper margin, a few small spots, 19th century speckled calf, gilt, upper joint weak, rubbed, a very good, wide-margined copy, [STC 19848], [John Daye], [1560].

An important record of The Reformation from one of the fore-most printers of the period. It chronicles the reign of the Holy Roman Emperor Charles V and records the spread of Luther’s ideology and other key events, including Henry VIII’s break with Rome and the great conflict with the Turks.
