Bible (The) that is, the Holy Scriptures contained in the Olde and Newe Testament translated according to the Ebrew and Greeke, 3 parts in 1, by Christopher Barker, Printer to the Queenes Maiestie , 1587 bound with Whole Book of Psalmes (The), John Wolfe, for the Assignes of Richard Day, 1587, with the second part of the Old Testament and the New Testament with separate title, all with ornate woodcut headpiece and printer’s device, circa 30 woodcuts and 5 maps in the text , title to the psalms with Wolfe's device, psalms printed in two columns with printed music, with a number of inscriptions detailing provenance from the 16th-18th centuries, a few marginal stains, small marginal tears to two leaves, one leaf with a tiny burn hole, some very light edge-toning, but overall an excellent, complete example , seventeenth century calf, both boards with simple panels ruled in gilt with fleurons and acorns at the corners, spine gilt with raised bands, both boards stamped with intials "P T" in gilt, one of two clasps remaining, some rubbing and invisible repairs to joints, all edges gilt , [STC 2146; Herbert 194; D&M 149; STC 2474], small 4to.
