A unique print that comes from a Welsh sheep-shearing story Robertson did for Picture Post magazine in 1951. She has said of the shot “It looks as though the sheep is being delicately held in the air by his tail. I was pleased with that. It was a sort of proof of everything I'd been striving for as a photojournalist”.
Grace Robertson submitted her first photographs to Picture Post at the age of nineteen under a male pseudonym and has gone on to become one of the most significant woman photojournalists working in Britain. In 1999 she received an OBE for services to photography.
