Francesco Cottini sopra l’attioni de Conclavi, manuscript in Italian, 101pp., ink initials “FD” and “PW” at head of first f., watermark of an angel approximates to Briquet 652 found in paper made at Salo at end of sixteenth century, some browning and staining, edges uncut, new endpapers, modern half calf, sm. folio, [c. 1580].

General instructions for the conduct of a Conclave. The only name mentioned is that of Cardinal del Monte (1487-1555) who reigned as Pope Julius III.
Provenance: From the collection of Francis Davison (c. 1575 - c. 1619), poet and anthologist, with his ink initials and motto “Piu meritar che conseguir” and ?accession note “ca:51”. Also later, Peter Wroth (d. 1644).
