Continental Tour.- A few recollections of a Tour through some parts of Germany, Austria, France, The Tyrol & Italy, manuscript, 138pp. & 2pp. index of illustrations, numerous engravings mounted, some ff. loose or working loose, slightly browned, pencil inscription at beginning: “M. E. Trevena from her old attached friend J.J.A.B.”, original limp morocco, gilt, slightly rubbed, tear at head of spine, spine slightly faded, g.e., sm. 4to, 6th July - 21st August 1857.

Paris. “I had never seen the Hotel de Ville, strangers are only allowed on particular days with some trouble we got in, and were amply repaid for the long walk on a hot day. It is a large building in the Place de Grêve, facing the street are 40 statues of celebrated men which have a very grand effect, the State Apartments are magnificent, and the furniture brilliant everything looked fresh and new - la Salle Napoleon all are gorgeously gilt furniture green damask interspersed with Bees, over the Mantel Piece is a full length picture of Napoleon in his coronation Robes… .”
