169. Curtis [William] and [William] Salisbury. Hortus siccus gramineus or, a collection of dried specimens of British grasses. printed titles, 125 sheets of dried specimens, with ms. captions in Latin and English, mounted on blue paper, the specimens generally in very good condition, 14 blank sheets with names and a ms. note at the beginning that these will be supplied when found, contemporary half russia, worn, covers detached, bookplate of Hon. John Amory Lowell [1798-1881; most of his books are at the Arnold Arboretum], given by him to the Boston Society of Natural History, later in the stock of Wheldon & Wesley, with their code cost on front pastedown, later cloth boxes, folio, sold at the Botanic Garden, Brompton, 1802.

Curtis died in 1799 and Salisbury, his partner, took over the management of the garden. The Kew copy is the only one on Copac; World Cat. adds 2 others, USA & The Netherlands.
