[Burnet (Thomas)] The Theory of the Earth, 4 part in 2 vol., first edition, engraved additional titles and 2 folding plates, engraved illustrations, one or two full-page, advertisement leaf at end of vol.2, signature cut away from head of title of vol.1, title of vol.2 soiled and with old ink inscription at head (slightly defective at upper outer corner and tear affecting text crudely repaired), vol.2 a little browned, a few rust-spots or holes, ex-library copy with small ink and embossed stamps, contemporary mottled calf, spines gilt with red morocco labels (not uniform), rubbed, splits to joints, slight wear to spine ends, [Wing B5950 & 5954], folio, R. Norton, for Walter Kettilby, 1684-90.
