Rare in any state. Only the Streeter copy (lot 247, Christies, New York, 16-17th April, 2007) has appeared at auction in the last 30 years. A manuscript f., signed William Courthope, 1835, concerning the death of Captain Nathaniel Courthope is bound in between pages 76 and 77. Courthope had died after engaging two Dutch ships. The work seeks to sway English sympathies away from the demands of the Dutch and reviews atrocities committed against the English at Amboyna.
